NIOS Admission stream 1 online application is out now. The stream-Ⅰ admission is for students who are appearing for the first time. NIOS Online Admission Forms for Block-Ⅰ and Block Ⅱ (Oct 2023) exams are available for class 10th and 12th students. NIOS Admission and Registration Dates 2023

Here is a list of important events for the admission of Secondary(class 10th) and Senior Secondary(class 12th) students.

NIOS Admission Eligibility 2023

Applicants must fulfill all the eligibility criteria before filling the application form. Only eligible aspirants can fill the application form. The eligibility criteria to secure admission in secondary and senior secondary examinations are given below.

For NIOS class 10th Admission:

  • The student must be 14 years of age as on 31st January 2022 to take up Block Ⅰ examination.
  • The minimum age is 14 years before 31st July for the Block Ⅱ examination (Born on or before 31st Jan 2006).
  • A student has to produce a class Ⅷ certificate from a recognized Board. This is to establish a minimum qualification.
  • A self-certificate of minimum qualification is also eligible for Secondary Courses.

 For NIOS class 12th Admission 2023:

  • The minimum age of a candidate must be 15 years as on 31st January 2023 for Block Ⅰ examinations.
  • A student must be 15 years of age as on 31st July 2023 for Block Ⅱ examinations.
  • The candidate must have a Class Ⅹ certificate from a recognized Board.

NIOS Stream 1 Online Admission Procedure 2023

The students need to fill up the online application form to secure NIOS admission in stream 1 examinations. Applicants must recollect all the documents before filling the online form.

Follow these steps to fill up the online application form.

1. Registration

  • Visit the official website i.e., www.nios.ac.in to register for online admission. You can also contact our NIOS admission center in Patna.
  • Fill the asked details and click the “SUBMIT” button.
  • In the next step, fill up the 4 sections- Basic Details, Personal Details, Subject Selection, and Study center selection carefully.

2. Basic Details 

  • Enter basic details like father name, mother name, mobile no., and email ID.
  • Click on “Generate OTP” and verify it.
  • Also, fill the personal details like Permanent Address, Present Address, caste, category, etc.

3. Upload Documents carefully 

  • Upload the scanned copy of your original ID proofs, photograph, and other required documents.
  • Click on the “NEXT” button.
  • Now your username and password are generated. Keep them safe and personal.

4. Subject selection 

  • Select the subjects as per your desired course.
  • Give original qualification details.

5. Study center selection

  • Select the study center wisely. Choose the nearest NIOS study center in Bihar.
  • You are allowed to select a maximum of 3 study centers.

Ex: A student from Bihar should select a study center of NIOS in Patna. It offers integrated coaching and will help you prepare well for the upcoming NIOS examination.  

6. Review Them 

  • Click on the “Review” button after filling all the details and uploading all the documents.
  • Check all the details once again.
  • Click the “NEXT” button.

7. Make Payment

  • Don’t rush in this last step to make payment.
  • Select any payment mode of your choice and pay the online application fee.
  • You will then receive a Fee Payment Receipt via email and SMS.

8. Get a Printout

  • Take a printout of the filled-in application form. Keep it safe for future needs.

NOTE: The NIOS admission is valid for five years from the date of registration. A total of 9 chances are allowed to complete the NIOS course.

NIOS Admission 2023 Application Fee

Dual Enrolment Fees / Part Admission / TOC (Stream -1)

NOTE: Fee payment is to be made online. Any other means of payment like Bank Draft/Demand Draft/Cash or Cheque is not acceptable. Please do not fall for any agencies/Cybercafe/any other institutions. NIOS doesn’t recognize them. Only CSC and NIOS AIs are the recognized centres for payment.

Documents Required for NIOS Admission Stream- 1

Class 10th:

  • Recent Passport size color Photograph (6 Copies)
  • A valid ID Proof (Aadhar Card or Passport, etc.)
  • Signature (ideally in Black Ink)
  • Valid Date of Birth (DOB) Proof (Birth Certificate or Aadhaar Card with DOB printed on it)
  • Class 8th mark sheet or Self Certificate is a must for Class 10th students.
  • Valid Residence proof (Aadhaar Card with a complete address printed on it, /Ration card/ valid Passport/Water Bill/Rental Agreement)
  • Social category/Caste certificate (a student belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category)
  • Ex-serviceman certificate (if a student belongs to an Ex-serviceman)
  • Fail Mark sheet of last Board, failing which the Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result.

Class 12th:

  • Recent Passport size color Photograph (6 Copies)
  • Signature (ideally in Black Ink)

NIOS Admission Important Tips

  • Admission Application Forms for Block Ⅱ examination are presently available. It will be open till 31st January 2022.
  • Late Fees have to be paid after the last date of online form filling. The last date is 15th March for late application filling.
  • The admission procedure is only via online mode. No offline application forms are available.
  • Submit original documents to avoid rejection of admission forms.
  • Students must provide only genuine information and original documents. The NIOS may cancel the admission in case of any discrepancies.
  • NIOS confirms your admission by issuing identity cards. Check the details well in your issued ID card.
  • There are multiple NIOS coaching centres around you. Ex: If you belong to Bihar, look for NIOS coaching in Patna or Bihar.

Frequently Asked Questions Related to NIOS Admission 2023

A: You can apply for correction at your regional centre or study centre. Make sure to add a document proof along with your application. You can also correct mistakes even after the result declaration. The revised documents will be issued only after the submission of documentary proof.

A:  You can check your admission status at the student portal of nios. NIOS generally confirms your admission by sending identity cards and a confirmation letter. Remember to check all the details in your unique identity card.

A: The NIOS generally takes about 2 months to confirm your admission from the date of registration. However, it can also take more time due to upcoming examinations or any other reasons.

A: NIOS stream 1 application is for the first time appearing candidates. Block 1 is the exam that occurs in the month of April and May. Block 2 is the second-time exam taking place in the month of October and November.

A: Yes. You can apply for admission until your admission period is not over. The NIOS admission is valid for five years from the date of registration. It also gives you multiple chances to pass the class 10th and class 12th exams.
